FamilyStories Launches Book and Activity Series with Sterling Publishing and Barnes & Noble

In the Fall of 2007, FamilyStories will launch our first publishing program with Sterling Publishing. This launch includes five titles that represent important moments in the lives of families.

"We are excited about the scope of these books," says Susan Magsamen, creator of FamilyStories. "From families playing together to dealing with divorce, these titles have an expansive range of subjects and understanding of topics that matter to families."

The First Five
"There is a book on bedtime called Nighty Night, helping family with tons of ideas on getting to sleep, plus great science and expert information," Magsamen says. "It also includes a beautiful music cd and lavender sachet that kids and parents can make together." Other titles are Tooth Fairy Time, Games Night, and Making Spirits Bright, which is all about anticipating Christmas. "We'll also offer a book about divorce that is really the first of its kind," she says. "My Two Homes is a helping hand for parents and kids who really want to know how other people have gone through this incredibly difficult time, with stories from so many different voices, plus a nuts-and-bolts planner to help keep track of things at home, at school, everywhere."

Books will be available at bookstores nationwide, as well as some specialty retail stores. "We have already received a great amount of interest in response to FamilyStories from educational institutions, libraries and retailers," says Charles Nurnberg, Publisher and CEO of Sterling Publishing. "What makes this project unique is that there is nothing currently on the market quite like this-it's a simple, easy-to-use series that we believe will be an indispensable resource for families everywhere. We look forward to further expanding the line in 2008."
